Arthur is the “Harwell Heir” in this story:
The widowed and wealthy Lavinia, the Viscountess Foxley-Graham, has her pick of lovers, yet true passion eludes her. One more assault on her heart looms, this time from the exquisitely attractive—and thoroughly unobtainable—Lord Petersham. Lavinia wonders if fate will ever allow a chance at happiness.
A tragedy twenty years ago incited Arthur, the Earl of Petersham, to vow never to fall in love again. Yet a passionate encounter with a stranger at a masquerade inflames his hopes, and he is determined to find her again. When he discovers the stranger is Lavinia, a woman for whom he already carries a torch, he is certain his future is settled. But Arthur must reconcile familial duty with his love for a woman unable to fulfill aristocratic obligations.
Inside Scoop: Arthur’s inclinations encompass male/male pleasure, exotic role-play and ménage. Lavinia and her ex-lover Julius harbor dark secrets, including adultery and abortion. Plagued by this past, Julius seeks solace in torturous release.
What can you expect in Book 3? Here’s a taste:
– References to the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. This is a series of quatrains written by the Persian poet Omar Khayyám (1048–1131) and translated–poetically–by the Victorian writer Edward FitzGerald (1809–1883). One line from the poem is the source of the title. (The book was originally titled Miss Danby’s Condition.)
– Older, “mature” characters, including a hero who is 44 and a heroine who is 46. Apparently there is a dearth of such characters in romance.
– A touch of dark erotica. Dr. Julius Christopher is back. He has secrets, he has desires. I really, really love Julius.
I’m excited, and I hope you are too!
